If I do something, it's "go big, or go home", and this blog is going 'home'...retirement home. Operating a business is tedious work, but a labor of love nonetheless. A blog, in and of itself is like a business!

Talk about a portrait of an Icon. Bob Marley spoke of love, in every form through his music. This portrait channels a happy, relaxed spirit of Marley. You can't help but crack a smile if you look at this long enough. What was he laughing about, or who was he laughing with? Nonetheless, it's a classic.

Janet knows how to rock a portrait shot everytime. I think she would make an interesting photographer, don't you think?

How would you describe your line of work?


- WELL...ITS URBAN CLOTHING WITH AN AFRICAN CENTERED APPEAL. IT'S ABOUT GIVING HOMAGE TO THE ANCESTORS AND ALSO BEING ABLE TO WEAR CLOTHES THAT EXPRESS WHATEVER IT IS YOU WANT TO DISPLAY ABOUT YOURSELF, COMMUNITY AND CULTURE.




How does your work contribute to the enrichment of the black community?


- I CREATE MY CLOTHES TO GIVE THE PEOPLE IN MY COMMUNITY A VOICE. I KEEP MY CLOTHES REASONABLE SO THAT PRICE ISN'T AN ISSUE AND I STICK TO THE MESSAGE SO THAT I NEVER APPEAR FLAKY, CONTRADICTING OR HYPOCRITICAL.


Who has influenced your career?


- MY OTHER COLLEAGUES IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY, LRG, POETRY, FELA KUTI, MUSIC, POLITICS, AFRICA, ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE BETTERMENT OF MY COMMUNITY, PEOPLE, AND CULTURE. ALOT OF TIMES PEOPLE ON THE STREETS GIVE ME INSPIRATION DEPENDING ON WHAT THEY'RE WEARING OR WHAT I WOULD WANT TO SEE PEOPLE IN.

Simple. Timeless.

As a Portrait Photographer, I'm always looking for creative ways to make my clients' experience feel rich and technologically-forward. This can definitely help boost that experience!

How would you describe your line of work?

- My line of work is fiction literature. It is under the genre of 'Urban Literature' but my fiction novels go beyond the sub genre of street literature. Although most of my work that is published is mostly street literature, my writing ranges in romance, fantasy and science fiction as well.

How does your work contribute to the enrichment of the black community?
- As a story teller my contribution to our community is acknowledge the condition of our people in every condition from the worse to the best then point out issues to consider, that brought about these conditions. It is also important that there is some inspiration, and encouragement involved without preaching. My storytelling makes you recognize a different perspective so we can interact with each other better. Coming from the streets but having a working class family background I seen both sides and was more apt to recognize the illnesses in our community. It is important for me to show the good, the bad and the ugly in my stories so everyone can be enlightened, including those of us who are considered conscious.

When I first bought this book, I was so amazed by the collection of imagery from decades of some of THE most beautiful Black people. Whether you're a photography enthusiast or just a visual art admirer, this book makes a great addition to your book collection (it's a great conversational piece), or to give as a gift. Yep...we are some beautiful people!
